About Us

Our History

Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic began when two neighbors were chatting over their clotheslines and discovered they were both members of a sorority.  Soon after, an ad was placed in the Melbourne Times and 12 more ladies responded.  The Panhellenic Association of South Brevard was born from a meeting held in a local church living room and in the first year had 19 charter members.  In only a few short years, the membership had more than tripled.  By 1990, membership had spread throughout Brevard County, so the current name of Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic was adopted.

Affiliated with National Panhellenic Conference, our Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic moves toward the realization of the timeless ideals of the national Panhellenic community.

Our Mission

Since the beginning, the mission of Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic has been to assist in the promotion of advanced education of National Panhellenic Conference sorority women by granting scholarships to qualified students.  In addition to scholarships, Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic strives to disseminate information about  National Panhellenic Conference organizations to qualified undergraduate women.  The members participate in fundraising activities to implement these scholarship and informational programs.

Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic is committed to personal integrity, intergenerational participation, community service and social enrichment.  Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic is a sisterhood that provides its members with unique opportunities in leadership and life-long friendships as we work to achieve our goals and mission.

The Panhellenic Creed

We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life.  The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
